In einem etwa 11-minütigen Video wurden die Nominierten der 30 Kategorien von The Game Awards bekannt gegeben. Hierbei ist Nintendo lediglich sechs Mal in den Nominierungen vertreten, darunter drei Mal in der Kategorie „Best Family Game“, sowie Super Mario Party Jamboree in der Kategorie „Best Multiplayer Game“, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom in der Kategorie „Best Action / Adventure Game“ und Metroid Prime 4 Beyond in der Kategorie „Most Anticipated Game“.
Zum ersten Mal seit 2018 wurde kein Nintendo-Spiel für den begehrten „Game of the Year“-Award nominiert, mit insgesamt sechs Nominierungen sind es so wenige wie zuletzt im Jahr 2020.
